Disciple I – Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study

For nearly thirty years, the original Disciple Bible Study has helped millions of people read through the Bible and grow their faith through a 34-week class. The new Disciple Fast Track study leads groups through the Bible in 24 weeks—12 on the Old Testament and 12 on the New Testament. Study manuals and videos give participants tools to absorb and retain what they learn about the Bible.

Disciple I will be divided into two 12 week terms that can be taken separately.
  • 12 Weeks Old Testament –Wednesdays, 7-8:30 pm  Sept. 20-Dec. 13
  • 12 Weeks New Testament—Winter/Spring 2018

The Fall session focuses on the Old Testament and its major themes, including Creation, Sin, Atonement, Deliverance, Order, Leadership, Wisdom and Hope. This class is at introductory level and asks participants to do at least 3-4 hours a week of study in the scriptures and student manual to prepare for each weekly session. Highly rewarding for those who invest the time!

Sign-ups available now in REALM, at the Welcome Desk beginning August 13th.

Taught by Rev. Colleen Ogle.
Study Manual required, suggested donation $17

Disciple II — Into the Word, Into the World
The new Disciple II Fast Track is offered for persons who have already completed Disciple I Bible Study previously.

Disciple II will be divided into two 12-week terms that can be taken separately
  • Study of Genesis-Exodus – Wednesdays, 7-8:30 pm Sept. 13 – Dec. 6
  • Study of The Gospel of Luke–Acts of the Apostles – Winter/Spring 2018

Into the Word helps readers deepen their understanding of Scripture and make connections between what they already know and what they are reading. Each week you will encounter three spiritual disciplines, learn what they are, and how you can engage those disciplines. The first discipline varies from week to week, then moves into Sabbath and prayer. In every session, you commit to how you will respond to Scripture in terms of ministry in the world. Daily preparation is manageable, with 3–5 chapters of the Bible to read each day.

Class size limited to 12.
