Here are our latest announcements:

  • October 31: A Memorial Service for Nancy Confar - Family and friends will be celebrating the life of Nancy Confar on Saturday, October 31 at King Avenue Church at 11 am. Gifts in her memory may be given to the King Avenue UMC Endowment Fund. Condolences may be left at: www.RutherfordFuneralHome.com. The service will be live streamed on our online worship page at http://bit.ly/ka-church-online.
  • November 4: Prayer Service for National Healing and Unity - King Avenue United Methodist Church will hold a brief Prayer Service for National Healing and Unity on Wednesday, November 4 from 6:00-6:30 pm on the front steps of the church where Revs. Keeny and Ogle will share scriptures, pray and will invite others to write prayers to post on a prayer wall. Jeffrey Wyckoff will provide music from the Carillon bells. We held a worship service the day after the 2016 presidential election and are doing so again, because our country is full of strife and facing prolonged challenges, which we can surmount better with God’s help and good will towards one another. Persons attending are asked to wear a mask and observe physical distance.
  • Nov 8- Dec 2: Bethlehem on Broad St. - This is a mission partnership with Broad St. UMC to provide a meal for families around the holidays. Packing lists and boxes available in the Fellowship Hall and Milling Area beginning Sunday, November 8. The deadline for filled boxes is Wednesday, December 2. CLICK HERE for the Shopping List
  • November 13, 14, 15 Comprehensive Campaign Commitment Card Return: Commitment Sunday is November 15. You can turn in your commitment cards at either the 9:00 or 11:00 service on that Sunday OR you can take advantage of our DRIVE-THRU COLLECTION times on Friday, November 13, 3:00-5:00 and Saturday, November 14, 10:00 - Noon in the SOUTH PARKING LOT where we will snap your picture as you participate in this important event! Please plan to help us celebrate our Coming Together for Transformation as we commit to supporting the future of King Ave United Methodist Church!
  • Add Your Piece of Clay! During the past several weeks we have learned a lot about King Avenue’s Comprehensive Campaign. We have learned the who, what, where, when, and why in Coming Together for Transformation. We have learned that this is not simply a slogan but a call from God for King Avenue to continue to serve as a visionary leader of Christ’s ministry of inclusive love in our community. Add your piece of clay to the transforming vessel!   • Comprehensive Campaign 2020 - Do you have all the latest information about King Avenue's Comprehensive Campaign, Coming Together for Transformation? All resources (including the Comprehensive Campaign video, recording of an informational meeting, powerful congregant witnesses, copies of all mailings, and more) are posted in a couple of places. Visit either the Comprehensive Campaign 2020 page on the online worship site or go to kingave.org to find all the information you need!
  • Oct 21-Nov 11: Walk it Out, A Prayer Journey for Transformation - As part of the Comprehensive Campaign, prayer stations will provide an opportunity to reflect upon KA’s past, present and future. We will offer thanks for those who have sacrificed to pave the way for us, and prayers that we will continue to build the foundation for a vibrant KA ministry, both now and in the future. Join your faith family on Wednesdays: October 21st, October 28th, November 4th, and November 11th, Noon – 1 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Social distancing and mask wearing will be observed.
  • Beginning November 1: Youth Group - We're back! Youth Group for 6-12 graders begins on 11/1 at 4:30pm via Zoom. The Zoom link and more information is available on the Youth Connections page, on Facebook, and Realm.. Contact Erin or Gwen with questions!
  • November 29 Lit Club - Join the Lit Club on November 29 at 7pm on Zoom to discuss Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid.
  • Upper Room Devotional Books - The Upper Room devotionals for November and December are available for pickup at the west and south parking lot doors.
