Re-opening Plan
The leadership of King Avenue Church is glad to announce that, along with the recommendations and guidelines set forth by the State of Ohio and the Centers for Disease Control, we will begin a slow re-opening process for worship activities at King Avenue Church beginning Sunday, June 14. Online worship will continue to be an option, too!

This Sunday is PENTECOST!
Many wear red on Pentecost Sunday as a visual reminder of the “tongues of fire" that empowered the apostles and others to proclaim the good news of Christ's resurrection in many languages to the crowds of pilgrims from many lands (Acts 2:3). Have a piece of birthday cake, too. The story in Acts 2 describes a powerful wind and tongues of fire as the Holy Spirit was poured out on people from all over the world who came to Jerusalem to celebrate a Jewish feast. At the first Pentecost over 3000 people were baptized, creating the first church. This is why Pentecost is known as the birthday of the Christian Church. LEARN MORE

King Avenue approved for PPP Loan
In April, King Avenue applied for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) offered by the Small Business Administration (SBA). We were not approved in the first round of funding, but approved during the second round of funding in early May for $85,500.00. The funds will be used to pay all full and part time employees of King Avenue for the months of May and June. We are following the strict guidelines set out by the SBA and hope to have this loan turned into a grant later in the year. This blessing will allow King Avenue to continue its mission of serving the people of the church and community.

Greeters and Ushers Needed
We are looking forward to in-person worship soon, but with three services per week additional help is needed in ushering and greeting. There will be a training held the first week of June, so don’t worry if you are new to this role. If you’re willing to lend a helping hand and a friendly (masked) face to the team, please email Beth Aiello, Director of Support Services, at beth@kingave.org. Please give your name and whether you’d like to serve at the 8:00, 9:30, or 11:00 service.

Let's Shower our Grads with CARDS!
As we celebrate the accomplishments of our high school graduates from a distance this year,  let’s celebrate them with a greeting card! Consider including a prayer or a piece of advice for our young people that are embarking on a new part of their life journey. The complete list of graduates and their mailing addresses is available by request from Erin Kendall at erin@kingave.org or Pastor Colleen at colleen@kingave.org.
