Promoting Racial Understanding and Healing Event 
Crossing the Color Line: 400 Years of Race in America 
Sunday, November 17, 4:00-7:00 p.m. 

The year 2019 marks the 400th anniversary of the recorded arrival of the first slave ship from Africa. West Ohio Conference Bishop Gregory Palmer has invited Maize Manor UMC in north Columbus to host an evening of learning and conversation about the historic racial divisions in our nation. The gathering will include multicultural worship, a documentary on the history of American racism, a sermon from Bishop Palmer, dinner and guided discussion. This event is open to all churches in the West Ohio Conference.  

King Avenue has been invited to provide persons who will serve as greeters as well as persons who will provide potluck items.
