AWE (Awesome Worship Experience)
This service is held each Sunday during the 9 am and 11:00 am service. 

 

AWE is a unique worship service designed for children in PreK – 6th grade.  The service will use the KidsOwn Worship© materials by FaithWeaver©. All children are invited to lead the congregation in the song Open Doors at the beginning of the service. The AWE service will begin after either Open Doors or Children’s moments (held one Sunday per month).  This special service uses music, games, drama, art and prayer to teach the word of God to the children of God.  The service is held in the Tree Room on the lower level of the church.

Meets each Sunday from 10am – 10:45am in the Peace Lounge located on the lower level of the church.  This is for children ages 4 – 10.  We will use a one-room format with Group’s Buzz program.

Robin Shockney will direct a new Children’s Choir for children in PreK (age 4) – 6th grade. The choir will meet on Sunday mornings from 10am – 10:45am in the AWE room on the lower level of the church.  The children will share their gifts and talents throughout the year during both the 9am and 11am services.  They will also perform in the Children’s Christmas Pageant at 5:00pm on Christmas Eve.

We are inclusive and accepting of all children and meet them where they are in their developmental or learning stages. Our staff and volunteers want to make your child’s experience here a positive and loving one. Many of us have participated in training sessions to help us create a positive, safe environment for children with special needs. Please let us know if there are important ways we can create a safe, fun experience for your child.

Infants, Toddlers and Preschoolers (ITP) will enjoy their own worship experience during the 11am service throughout the 2011-2012 school year.  The lessons are age appropriate and led by nursery volunteers and workers.  Infants –23 months:  AWE worship will be held on the infant room. 2’s & 3’s:  AWE worship will be held in the nursery in the toddler room.  Sunday School classes are offered in the nursery from 10am—10:45am.

We follow a ―Safe Sanctuary policy. Paid nursery staff are required to go through a screening process and background check. Additional information concerning our Safe Sanctuary policy may be obtained from the church office.
