King Avenue Players' THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO AuditionsJanuary 29, 2017, 6:30 pm AUDITIONS Sunday, January 29 at 6:30pm Monday, January 30 at 6:30pm at King Avenue UMC 299 King Avenue Columbus Those auditioning will be asked to cold read a scene from the show. If available, but not required, please bring a head shot and resume. The show has 3 male roles and 4 female roles. Ages range from early 20s to 50+. The show will be directed by Dan McCarty. PERFORMANCES Thursday, March 23 - Sunday, March 26 at King Avenue United Methodist Church 299 King Avenue Columbus ABOUT THE SHOW THE LAST NIGHT OF BALLYHOO takes place in Atlanta, Georgia, in December of 1939. Gone with the Wind is having its world premiere, and Hitler is invading Poland, but Atlanta's elitist German Jews are much more concerned with who is going to Ballyhoo, the social event of the season. As preparations are being made for this lavish event, an unexpected visitor arrives to cause the Freitag family to re-examine their Jewish beliefs and the identities that they have come to accept as their own. |
