Dear King Avenue Family,
Each year we ask for financial commitments to support our annual budget through pledges offered by the community of servants, called by God’s reconciling grace to open doors of sanctuary and create new avenues of ministry. These financial commitments support our mission, TO INVITE, WELCOME, AND HONOR ALL PEOPLE AND NURTURE THEM TO GROW IN SERVICE WITH CHRIST while striving to teach, celebrate, advocate, equip, and activate our community. And . . . as a community we have been doing great work!
Our 2026 budget is roughly $950,000. That is what it will take for us to continue this great work.
As a community, in 2025, we delivered 3,600 lunches to feed the hungry. We built 2 houses for the unhoused, we worked in kitchens and traveled hundreds of miles to share our love with children who are blessed and beloved. WE ARE ROOTED IN LOVE!
We partnered with NNEMAP and provided 3,000 pounds of fresh produce to our neighbors. We started a summer camp for our youth in music, art, drama and creative writing, with 34 in attendance. We started ministries to open our hearts to the Word of God as experienced through our family of faith. The OPEN Devotional Daily Reflections had 260 participants with 90 people who wrote daily reflections, and still growing. We nurtured 12 young people who are moving forward in their journey through Confirmation. WE ARE ROOTED IN LOVE!
We have groups in and outside of our church from Children and Youth to Young Adults, to Retirees. We have Rainbow Connections our LGBTQIA+ group, which, with your help will host the 26th anniversary of the Transgender Day of Remembrance in November. WE ARE ROOTED IN LOVE!
Please prayerfully consider your support for King Avenue, our community, ROOTED IN LOVE! These weeks in worship are not just about funding a budget, but about forming a community of disciples in the service of Christ’s vision, we who resist the culture of scarcity and self-interest and live into the abundance of God’s grace and heed the call to love our neighbors as ourselves.
Your giving nurtures faith through praise, worship, service, and outreach . . . And more, it shapes your heart. Generosity is one of the clearest ways of demonstrating our trust in God’s abundance over the world’s anxiety. Please return your Estimate of Giving Card during worship on Sunday, October 26 by mail, or enter your pledge in Realm. Every gift counts. We give as we are able, joyfully and generously, to the glory of God, supporting our shared life.
ROOTED IN LOVE,
Karen Muntzing and Andy Burns
Ephesians 3:14-21, CEB Inclusive
Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians
14 This is why I kneel before the Parent. 15 Every ethnic group in heaven or on earth is recognized by them. 16 I ask that God will strengthen you in your inner selves from the riches of their glory through the Spirit. 17 I ask that Christ will live in your hearts through faith. As a result of having strong roots in love, 18 I ask that you’ll have the power to grasp love’s width and length, height and depth, together with all believers. 19 I ask that you’ll know the love of Christ that is beyond knowledge so that you will be filled entirely with the fullness of God. 20 Glory to God, who is able to do far beyond all that we could ask or imagine by their power at work within us; 21 glory to them in the church and in Christ Jesus for all generations, forever and always. Amen.
