Our team of “baristas” begin brewing at 8 am on Sunday mornings for Morning Blend and 10 am for the Coffee Hour before traditional service. Come out early before each of the Sunday worship services to help prepare and set up the coffee, donuts, fruit and other delicious munchies!

The scripture lessons in both of King Avenue’s worship services are read by congregational members. The reading schedule is done quarterly, and generally a person would read once or twice in that time frame. The reader receives the texts during the week preceding their Sunday. Persons of all ages are encouraged to be readers.

We are always looking for some folks who would like to learn how to help with live streaming our 9:00 and 11:00 services. You don’t need a lot of experience; we will train you! Please contact Michael Billups at av@kingave.org if you are interested in joining the team.
Each spring we need a group of green-thumb specialists (or just folks who like to play in the dirt) to adopt a small plot in the flower beds that surround our church building. You are the landscape designer and plan and plant your own special section here at King Avenue. Your efforts bring a rainbow of colors to our neighborhood for all to enjoy throughout the summer. Mulch is provided by the church. If you are interested in becoming a church gardener, please contact Amy Ashburn at amy@kingave.org.
King Avenue encourages persons to witness in our worship services to their experience of God’s presence in their life. Witnesses cover a wide spectrum of experiences – inclusion, forgiveness, love, faith formation, discipleship, stewardship, and others. Witnesses are 3-4 minutes in length and the written text is submitted to the pastor several days in advance of the scheduled Sunday.
