“Make a joyful noise to the Lord." — Psalm 100:1
Through music, we are able to come together and express our love for each other and our faith. King Avenue hosts a variety of musical programs and invites everyone to join in. For more information about King Avenue's Music Ministries, please contact the Minister of Music, Chris McManus at cmcmanus@kingave.org.
Our Chancel Choir sings for the 11:00 service each Sunday September through June. Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings from 7:30 – 9:00 p.m., beginning the first Thursday after Labor Day. Repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary.
Special choral presentations during Advent and major choral works with orchestral accompaniment are highlights of each season. No audition required, though previous choral experience is helpful.
For more information please contact the Minister of Music, Chris McManus at cmcmanus711@gmail.com.
Our bell choir rings a 5-octave set of bells and 4-octave set of chimes. The bell choir rings approximately once a month in the 11:00 service and participates in the annual Bell Festival in early May. Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings from 6:15 – 7:15 p.m. beginning the first Thursday after Labor Day. New members are welcomed into the choir as openings allow. Some experience in handbell ringing and music reading is helpful.

This small vocal and instrumental ensemble sings for the informal Morning Blend service each Sunday morning at 9 am throughout the year. Musical styles range from folk to contemporary. Rehearsals take place Wednesday evenings from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. Due to the small number of singers, voices must be able to blend easily with others.
For more information please contact the Minister of Music, Chris McManus at cmcmanus711@gmail.com.
Psalm 150 says, "Praise the Lord with the sounding trumpet, lyre, harp, strings and pipe, even clashing cymbals." Why stop there? If you play an instrument and would like to offer your talents to our worship services, contact Chris McManus, Minister of Music at cmcmanus711@gmail.com
Small vocal and instrumental ensembles are formed as needed to provide special music throughout the year.
In addition to the variety of music programs we host, many members of our congregation are involved in, or supporters of, the Columbus Pride Bands, the Columbus Gay Men’s Chorus and the King Avenue Players.
King Avenue United Methodist Church is blessed to worship in a beautiful sanctuary that has been lovingly preserved and restored throughout its more than 100-year history. While in our worship space, you will experience the rich sounds of the Buzard Opus 36 pipe organ, completed in 2007, as well as our 10-bell carillon—technically known as a chime. The chime rings out across the neighborhood each Sunday.
