Pride Parade Details - June 18, 2022

For the parade, be mindful of any physical limitations that you may have and that this will most likely be a hot day in June. The parade is about 1.5-2 miles, about 2-3 hours long. Bill will be driving the church bus with limited seating for those who need to sit. We will also have water for those who need it, but you can certainly bring your own water. 

Line up
We will be lining up with other Reconciling Ministries Network churches in the parade. Our parade lineup location is on High Street between Rich and Broad, likely in front of or near the Capital building. When we get set in our exact spot, we will communicate through an email blast, and through King Avenue’s Facebook page and Spectrum's Facebook group where we are so that you can find us in the crowd. You can also check the website (kingave.org). 

Arrival Time
The parade is scheduled to start at 10:30 and you can plan to arrive between 9-10:30. Broad Street UMC (501 E Broad St) have offered their parking lot if you’d like to park there. You can walk the 5ish blocks from there to the lineup, or shuttles will arrive intermittently between 9-10:30 to bring people to the parade lineup spot. 

Parade Route
The parade will end at Buttles and High (near Goodale Park). There will not be transportation provided from the end of the parade route to Broad Street UMC. If you parked at Broad Street UMC, you will need to arrange your own transportation to get your car.
 
Parking
All parking lots are limited in space, so you are also free to park in King Avenue’s parking lot and get an Uber to the lineup spot, carpool, or arrange any other type of transportation. 

What to Wear
If you have a King Avenue shirt from past years, you can wear that! Embellish with all the rainbow colors you can! T-shirts from previous years are available for purchase - 1 for $10 and 2 for $15. Please ask a Spectrum member or contact Pastor Andy if you are interested in purchasing one.
