Anti-Racism Education Series: Parent Panel Conversation

It has been one month since protests against racism and violence towards the Black community spread from Minneapolis through the world. Both Rev. Colleen and Rev. John have spoken about this global movement. As followers of Christ, we are called to be peacemakers. As United Methodists, we commit to "renounce the spiritual forces of wickedness, reject the evil powers of this world" and "resist evil, injustice, and oppression in whatever forms they present themselves." Jesus commanded, “Love one another, as I have loved you” (John 13:34).

During this time of societal unrest and difficult, but necessary, change, we want to open opportunities at King Avenue Church for families to share their personal experiences with one another. We want to create a community of support, encourage authentic dialogue, and provide personal resources to help each other persevere.

We welcome you to join in a conversation with a panel of King Avenue families as they share their personal experience with racism and how they talk to their kids about racism. We look forward to seeing you there.

Visit this event in our King Avenue Youth Ministries Facebook Page so that you will be included in happenings.
