  • Sunday, July 30: Rainbow Connections Letter-Writing Campaign - There has been a wave of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in Ohio, and we don't like that. One way we can take action is by writing letters to our state representatives. On July 30, Rainbow Connections wants to help you do exactly that. We will have tables set up after each service with paper, pens, envelopes, labels, a list of representatives with addresses. We'll even have non-partisan talking points if you need help starting your letter. All you need to do is stop at the table after the service, take a few minutes to write a letter and address it. We'll make sure it gets to your representative.

  • Saturday, August 19: Our Houseless Neighbors, An Education & Action Event - Houselessness affects us all in many different ways. It's such a complex social issue that we don't even know how to talk about it. Is it unhoused, houseless, unsheltered, or homeless? This may seem like an insurmountable problem, but it is not. Come to King Avenue on Saturday, Aug. 19 (9am-11:30am) to join a conversation and learn how to accept, love, and help our friends who need it the most. We will also take action and put together bags with much-needed supplies for these friends. Check-in for the event is at 8:45am. No cost, but donations are welcome to off-set the cost of the blessing bags.

  • CYFM Volunteer Request for 2023 to 2024 school year - Due to the success of our Sunday morning program and the influx of new families at King Avenue, there will be many opportunities for volunteering once a month in the nursery, with Worship Connections (in either services), and with Sunday School classes at 10 am. Contact Gwen with any questions at gwendolyn.derosa@gmail.com . Sign up for a training workshop for new and seasoned volunteers: 8/19 from 9am to Noon, 8/22 from 6 pm to 8:30 pm, or 8/27 from noon to 3 pm.

  • NNEMAP Item of the Month for July - Each month, we are going to focus our donations on specific items our community partners. You can bring your donations with you on Sundays. • Updates from the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church - An announcement was made at church on Sunday, June 4 by Bill Brownson, King Avenue Member and CFO and Director of Administration for West Ohio Conference. Bill helped to recap the recent West Ohio Annual Conference. This announcement was made on behalf of the King Avenue leadership who attended the 3-day conference. Although there were some difficult times during the conference, the overall shift towards full inclusion was apparent. At King Avenue, we emphatically state that God’s love is for ALL people. For all of us who have wondered if the United Methodist Church in West Ohio itself really welcomes all, we have our answer! We now know that in this church AND in the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church, our sentiments are that ALL ARE WELCOME. CLICK HERE FOR THE TRANSCRIPT OF HIS ANNOUNCEMENT
