Changing the Conversation Speaker Series
"5 Truths About the Bible (And What They Tell Us About LGBT People)," John Shore

Christians everywhere are being called upon to declare where they stand on the question of homosexuality. For insight into this question, they naturally turn to the Bible. John Shore and his wife did the same, and it changed their lives. King Avenue United Methodist Church is proud to welcome John to Columbus on Sunday, October 2 at 7 p.m. for a special presentation for those searching to understand better full inclusion in the church.

John’s program, "5 Truths About the Bible (And What They Tell Us About LGBT People),” will spotlight what he believes clarifies, in no uncertain terms, what every Christian is called upon to believe – and proclaim – about LGBT people.

John Shore is co-founder of the Not All Like That (NALT) Christians Project, founder of Unfundamentalist Christians, and author of UNFAIR: Christians and the LGBT Question. When John began using the platform of his blog – and later as a featured writer on The Huffington Post – to advocate for the full and equal acceptance of LGBT people within Christianity, there were few other Christians like him stepping up to fight for the cause of LGBT equality.

Rob Bell, author of Love Wins, and one of Time Magazine’s 2011 Most Influential People in the World says, “John Shore is awesome, and a brilliant writer.”

Shore is a madman and a genius,” according to Eric Metaxas, best-selling author and winner of the Christian Booksellers Association’s 2011 Book of the Year, Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy

This program is part of King Avenue’s “Changing the Conversation” Speaker Series, which features Christian thought leaders striving for inclusion of traditionally-marginalized people and communities.
