Our Hearts TransformING

October 30, 2023

Dear King Avenue Friend,

King Avenue has a long and storied history. During the devastating fire of 1918, our Methodist community at King Avenue gathered around among ashes. And before the ashes settled, every child, woman, and man were giving... transforming our church to what it is today. Not everyone could give a large amount, but the sharing by everyone added up to more than enough.

Transforming our church from fire, through WWI, Spanish Flu, the Great Depression, and WWII, our definitive committing to leading the way of affirming all persons as beloved by God and full participants in ministry together. Since then, prevailing through COVID-19 and the challenges of restructuring our denomination, we are committing to sharing life together.

We are transforming community, bringing to life Christ’s love and acceptance, as we come to this place, our church home, a beacon of love and hope. We are moving forward in faith as we build by making disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We anticipate continuing staff extensions in family ministry and media & technology seeded with funds from our Comprehensive Campaign.

Let’s bring Christ’s love with actions of Inviting, Welcoming, Honoring, Reconciling, Equipping, and Nurturing all people to grow in service with Christ!

As part of our transforming community, please consider a pledge this year of at least 4% of your household income. We use pledge commitments received to finalize and determine our operating budget. Our 2023 operating budget was nearly $1 million.

Thank you again for helping us continue King Avenue’s long tradition of being ALL IN.

With hope and love in Christ,
Pastor Karen Muntzing
Senior Pastor, King Avenue United Methodist Church
